1. What We Collect

TipityScanner collects only what is necessary to deliver the service:

• Location data (Near Me only): When you use Near Me, your browser requests your approximate GPS coordinates. These are used in your browser only to compute distance to nearby feeds — your location is never transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere.
• Usage data: Pages visited, feeds played, and general interaction patterns — collected anonymously to improve the service.
• Advertising data: Our ad partner (Bonusmoney / SecureAdDisplay) may use cookies or device identifiers to show relevant ads. See their privacy policy for details.

TipityScanner does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information unless you explicitly contact us.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To serve live police, fire, and emergency scanner feeds
• To match your location to nearby feeds (processed locally in your browser)
• To detect abuse or excessive scraping
• To comply with applicable law

We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

• Bonusmoney / SecureAdDisplay — advertising. Subject to their own privacy policy.
• Google Firebase — backend database and hosting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Cloud Run — server hosting. Request logs retained per Google's standard policy.
• Broadcastify and other scanner providers — live audio streams are embedded from third-party sources. Playing a stream may expose your IP address to that provider.

4. Location Data

The Near Me feature requests your browser location permission solely to sort nearby feeds by distance. This computation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers or stored in any database. You can deny the location permission and still use all other features of TipityScanner.

5. Cookies & Storage

TipityScanner uses sessionStorage to remember your last-viewed feed and dismissed UI elements. We do not set tracking cookies. Our ad partner may set cookies for ad targeting. Opt out at optout.aboutads.info.

6. Children

TipityScanner is not directed at children under 13. Emergency scanner content may include distressing or graphic audio descriptions and is not appropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Your Rights

Since TipityScanner collects no personal accounts and processes location data only locally in your browser, there is minimal personal data for us to hold. For any data-related concern, contact support@tipitylabs.com.

8. Security

We use HTTPS and Firebase security rules to protect our infrastructure. Scanner feeds are served over secure connections where available.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will note the Effective Date at the top. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
